Ref: "Food 2017" program for Cluj residents with low incomes
The City Hall of Cluj-Napoca organizes for the fifth consecutive year the distribution of basic food packages to people from disadvantaged categories in the municipality. Food distribution will start on Friday, April 7, 2017.
This project is additional to the one from European funds and offers the chance to other categories of people, other than those provided in the European program, to benefit from food aid. this year the sum of 1,300,000 lei was allocated (through HCL no. 273/2017) for the purchase and distribution of food, twice a year, on the occasion of the Easter and Christmas holidays, to approximately 20,000 Cluj residents (people with serious and accentuated disability, elderly people, unemployed, beneficiaries of social assistance and from other social categories found in the records of the Directorate of Social Assistance and Medical).
3 economic operators participated in the open online auction procedure. The contract was awarded by SC EXIMAL IMPEX SRL, having the offer with the lowest price (1,087,600 lei without VAT).
One package contains the following food products: 2 liters of oil, 2 kg of rice, 2 kg of sugar, 1 kg of wheat flour, 1 kg of malai flour and 2 bags of floury pasta (500 gr. each: penne pasta and tagliatelle). The cost of a package is 27.19 lei without VAT.
The distribution of food takes place according to the following schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, between 08.30 - 15.30;
Thursday, between 08:30 and 16:30;
Friday, between 08:30 and 14:00.

The lists with the categories of beneficiaries were drawn up based on the data sent by the Cluj County Pension House, the Cluj County Labor Force Employment Agency and the Cluj General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection.
All beneficiaries of the program will also be informed through written invitations, sent by post, to show up at one of the distribution centers in the district to pick up the food. It is necessary for them to present themselves with the identity card/bill, in original, to pick up the packages.
If certain people are not on the initial lists, but fall into one of the categories listed above, they have the opportunity, based on the supporting documents, to present themselves at the distribution points (closest to their home) to be placed on additional lists, in order to pick up the packages.
