communique
The Preventis Association in collaboration with the Directorate of Social and Medical Assistance of the Cluj-Napoca Local Council is organizing today, June 27, 2016, the event GO UP NOT HIGH - public action to raise awareness of the population of Cluj regarding the risks associated with drug use. The street event marks the International Anti-Drug Day.
The action will take place on bd. Eroilor - the pedestrian area near the Bell, between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and consists of the following:
- 3 giant Jenga interactive games - passers-by will be able to participate in building the Jenga towers, moving one piece at a time and answering the questions associated with the game pieces. Thus, the message will be sent that "to build" requires effort and perseverance, but "to tear down" can be achieved with a single wrong move. "Damn drugs!"
- Creating caricatures for passers-by with the message "Drugs are bad!"
- The confession booth with the message "Drugs hurt!" - passers-by will be invited to enter the cabin and write down something from their life or that of their loved ones that is related to the addict. Thus, they will be challenged to take the time to become aware of the negative effects of addictions, both on themselves and through the impact on their loved ones.
The team and volunteers of the project will hold awareness discussions with passers-by regarding the risks associated with drug use and will provide informative and educational material, as well as personalized bracelets with the campaign's message. The latter are intended to be a "reminder" of the campaign's message during the summer vacation - the period considered to be of high risk in the onset of drug use among teenagers.
